Natalie's 2nd Birthday

We had a great time celebrating Natalie's 2nd birthday in sunny Arizona. Natalie was excited it was her birthday and that her Baba was flying into Arizona from Illinois for her special day.

Holiday Season

Who knew how busy it would be during the holiday season. I am now about 29 weeks pregnant! Just got back from spending Thanksgiving with my side of the family in California. I sure miss Cali. Now back in Illinois until Monday. Then the girls and I are off to Arizona to be with Jacob's side of the family. Can't wait for the warm weather in Arizona! Jacob doesn't get to join us until the 20th of December because he will still be on his surgery rotation. So far 3rd year of medical school isn't as bad as I thought it would be. We still get to see Jacob and usually have the weekends together. I can't believe 3rd year of med school is almost over! Anyway, I've been super busy trying to make things and get things together before my travels.
- I made these delicious honey snap cookies and cake balls to give to friends for Christmas last night.
- I also made some name pillows for my nieces and nephews on my side of the family.
- Made some handbags for my friend's birthday and for my sister's Christmas present.
- Bought material for bean bags for the girls, but haven't started to make them yet. Probably going to make them after New Years.

I will post pictures of the things I made later. =)

Happy Holidays!

Fire Truck Cake

This was a cake I made for one of Natalie's friends who was turning two. It was so much fun to see the little boy's face light up when he saw his cake. All the hard work was worth it. =) I had a blast making this cake. It was just normal chocolate cake mix and buttercream frosting . Everything is cake (I used 3 cake mixes). The kids especially loved the green grass! (which was my favorite part)

16 Weeks Pregnant

I can't believe it's been 16 weeks already! Feeling a lot better now and I have my desire to cook back! We have been eating a lot of Asian foods for dinner (Pho, pad thai, chow mein, sushi, rice, Vietnamese beef stew, other Chinese dishes... etc.). Fruit sounds great. I think my first offical craving for this pregnancy would have to be kim chi. I eat it with everything. =) Jacob thinks I'm crazy. Anyway, everything is going great!

Jocelyn's 2nd Birthday

I always wanted to post these, but I guess I forgot. Here are some pictures from Jocelyn's 3rd birthday. I made her a Maisy cake that she loved! I loved making it too although it took me a while to make. It was my first time working with marshmallow fondant. It actually turned out pretty tasty. It was a banana cake with cream cheese frosting inside. When I asked her what she wanted on her cake she said Maisy, Tallulah, and Charley. Then after I was finished making the cake she asked me why Eddie wasn't on the cake! I told her she didn't say that she wanted him on there and there wouldn't have been room for him. For those who are not familiar with Maisy, Eddie is the big elephant! Haha.

Natalie's 1st Birthday

I don't think I ever posted these pictures of Natalie's first birthday. We were in Arizona with Jacob's family when we celebrated her birthday. I made her a Chinese cake with fruit inside and at that time Natalie was into Cinderella and could even say "Cinderella." That was why I used the same Cinderella figure from Jocelyn's 2nd birthday cake. The Cinderella figure was from my cake when I was little. Thank you mom for saving it!

Pokeball Cake

Here is a Pokeball cake from Pokemon. I decorated the cake for my friend's son's 10th birthday. It was so fun decorating this cake. I love any reason to make/decorate a cake!

Yummy All Fruit Smoothie

Who needs McDonalds all fruit smoothie when you can just make some at home? I actually never tried their smoothies, but heard that they were pretty good. I love my Magic Bullet because you can drink out of the same cup you make your smoothie in. Here is another all fruit smoothie recipe:

1 ripe banana
1/3 - 1/2 c frozen strawberries
1/3 - 1/2 c froze blueberries
Orange juice to cover 3/4 of the fruit
Enough water to cover the fruit
1 T honey

Blend and enjoy! I am enjoying one right now. =)
